Their salary date is tomorrow (24). 

It is said that each employee would forgo approx. Rs. 10,000 from their salary. 
 
The decision to  do so has been taken, on a suggestion made to the Management by the Director General (Finances) and Deputy Director General (Finances) due to staff reporting to work on a need-based roster in the past period. SLBC  sources say this was as per the instructions issued by their department heads due to the Covid 19 situation in the country.

Co-Cabinet Spokesman Minister Ramesh Pathirana in a press conference recently stated that the Government does not plan to curtail the salaries of state employees.
