COVID-19 jab to be made mandatory?

The government is reportedly deciding to bring in laws and regulations to make it mandatory for all Sri Lankans over the age of 30 to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Accordingly, the government hopes to initiate a mechanism at the Grama Niladhari level to find out those who have not been vaccinated, Chief Adviser to the President Lalith Weeratunga has told the 'Divaina' newspaper.

He further stated that the vaccination should be made compulsory for all persons above the age of 30 years and that the government is considering to implement the necessary regulations.
