40 COVID positive kids being treated at LRH ; Doctors warn parents

Forty children are being treated for COVID-19 at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children, says hospital director Dr. G. Wijesuriya.

The infected children are aged between 8 to 12 years and at least four children tested positive daily for COVID-19, he said.

The infected children are being transferred to the Lunawa Hospital.

Considering the current situation, Dr. Wijesuriya urged the parents not to take out the children to engage in unnecessary travels.

He asked the parents not to take children for weddings, funerals, super markets and any other crowded places.
