Speaking, Mrs. Wedikkaraarachchi said she had accepted the appointment on a  volunteer basis and the incident had left her dejected.

She further said that she is yet to decide whether to continue in the post.

Noting that media had referred to her as only an actress and model, Mrs. Wedikkaraarachchi says that she holds a BA hons in fashion design and technology as well as a Msc in Applied Psychology and Behavior Change at Cardiff Metropolitan University.

Our previous news was based on the original story from 'Lanka C News', which has now been removed. We sincerely regret any inconvenience and emotional turmoil caused to Mrs. Wedikkaraarachchi in this regard.
