President of the Joint Health Workers Trade Union Ven. Tampitiye Sugathananda Thera said the minor employees would go on strike on August 03 and 04, unless the health ministry failed to resolve their problems.

The union has decided to conduct protests from July 26, urging the health authorities to provide solutions to 10 demands put forward by them.

The thera said they have informed the authorities several times about the problems faced by the minor employees, "but the authorities are silent on our demands. Why are they not taking any action to solve our problems?"
