Tea Smallholdings team to Japan raises eyebrows Featured

The Tea Smallholdings Development Authority is to buy machinery for a solar panel system from Japan, but is sending its chairman and two officials not having the relevant knowledge, according to reports reaching Sri Lanka Mirror.

Chairman of the Authority Wijeratne Devagedara will be accompanied by acting human resources manager Harshan de Silva and computer data planning officer Rohitha Vaidyaratne when he leaves for Japan on March 26.

The solar panel system is to be installed at the Authority’s Ratnasiri Wickremanayake training centre at Hantana in Kandy.

Meanwhile, acting HR manager Harshan de Silva has reportedly failed in the GCE ordinary level examination.
