The stock of 26,000 Pfizer vaccine doses received yesterday will be administered as the second dose to persons in Colombo city limits, who had received the Oxford AstraZeneca Covishield dose as the first jab.

This will commence from tomorrow (07).

Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) - General Shavendra Silva said it will be administered to persons above 55 years residing within Colombo 01-15.

He added that the date, time and venue of vaccination will be informed via SMS.

The vaccination programme is to be handled by the Sri Lanka Army.
