It has been revealed that although the Lanka Hospital had fone 4000 PCR tests on the employees of the MAS factory, proper standards have not been followed in doing them and also health guidelines too had been ignored.
Labour Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva has also ordered the Labour Commissioner General Prabath Chandrakeerthi to conduct an inquiry on this.
Sources say there were discrepancies in the reports issued by the hospital. Being informed about this, the president has ordered to take over the reports from the hospital.
When the health ministry asked for the report, the Lanka Hospital informed the ministry that those reports had been destroyed.
Since the destroying of the reports appeared to be suspicious, the president has ordered to conduct an inquiry on the hospital.
Accordingly, the Director General of Health Services has called a report on that.
While the Lanka Hospital has been given permission to do only 1200 PCR tests per week, the hospital has reportedly done 7000 PCR tests within two days during this week.
