Deputy Director-General of Public Health Services - Dr Hemantha Herath says Sri Lanka faces the risk of nearly one million people contracting COVID-19 over the next 100 days.

Speaking to media, he said that the virus caseload is said to double every five days.

"According to our calculations, if this infection is spread to another within 5-6 days,  the caseload will double every five days. If the caseload doubles itself for 20 times within a 100 days, the caseload will definitely pass the one million mark," he added.
