Public sector salaries on May 21

Salaries of employees in the public sector for the month of May will be paid on the 21st and not on the 25th.

Making the announcement, Finance Ministry Secretary S. R. Attygalle also said that salaries of government teachers will be paid on Tuesday (18) and the salaries of military personnel will be paid on Wednesday (19).

Earlier today, the government also declared May 24th & 25th as special Government Holidays.

However, the Ministry of Public Services, Provincial Councils, and Local Government on Tuesday clarified that these two days will not be Mercantile & Bank Holidays.
