Media accreditation validity period extended

The Government Information Department has stated that the validity of the media accreditation issued by the Department for the year 2020, has been extended until further notice.

In a statement addressed to heads of media institutions, the Department stated that the measure was taken to enable journalists to function unhindered as the prevailing COVID-19 situation has prevented them from speedily issuing the accreditation card for the year 2021.

The statement also said that measures have been taken to issue the gazette to extend the validity of the 2020 accreditation card.
