'Wele Suda' not to be moved from Boossa prison until May 24

The Appeal court today (17) directed the Superintendent of the Boossa Prison not to move Gampola Vidanalage Samantha Kumara alias 'Wele Suda' out of the prison until May 24.

The court made this directive after considering a petition filed by Wele Suda's mother - R. G. Malani.

President’s Counsel Romesh de Silva, appearing for the petitioner, stated that as there had been several situations where suspects in police custody are escorted out and killed, his client fears that her son would face a similar fate.
