Armed forces expedites vaccination drive, says Gen. Shavendra Silva

The three armed forces have been able to expedite the vaccination drive to a greater extent within the last three days, said army commander Gen. Shavendra Silva.
He said on the instructions of the president, the armed forces joined the vaccination drive three days ago to help the health sector.
After the armed forces joined the vaccination program, the amount of vaccine given daily has increased from 3000 to 50,000, said the army commander.
On Wednesday alone, 64,000 doses were given to the people.
The vaccination program is implemented mainly in the Western province which is the worst affected by the COVID-19.
