The 8-ft long creature had been hiding before being spotted. It was later released to the Pulikulam Tank in Kilinochchi.

 

Wildlife officers say the prevailing hot weather has resulted in low water levels in Tanks around the region and as a result, crocodiles are roaming in search of water.
