He stressed that only the essential employees should be called to work places and that guidelines should be strictly followed when employees are called to work.

He also stressed that the public should avoid gathering on a large scale and visiting the houses of friends and relatives.

He urged people to act in a disciplined and responsible manner to contain the spreading of the virus.

Sri Lanka on Sunday reported it's highest daily figure of COVID-19 infections 1891.

The highest figure was reported from Colombo with Kalutara second and Gampaha third.The total confirmed figure now stands at 111,753 while 13,815 still receive treatment at hospitals.
