The government has decided to close all schools, pre-schools and Piriven institutions islandwide until this Friday (30).

Speaking, Education minister - G.L. Peiris said that a meeting would be held with held with health units, provincial educational directors and principals during the upcoming weekend to decide on holding schools during next week starting from May 03.

The minister emphasised that the health of the schoolchildren will be prioritized when taking decisions on starting school classes.

Schools Islandwide have been informed to close until April 30, Cabinet Spokesperson Keheliya Rambukwella has announced a short while ago.---------------------------------------------

Schools in Kegalle closed

Sabaragamuwa governor - Tikiri Kobbekaduwa says that it has been decided to close all schools in the Kegalle district until April 30 due to the risk of COVID-19.
