The victims, who are residents of Warakapola and Kegalle, include a 5-year old girl and her mother, says the GMOA's Dr. Haritha Aluthge.
Noting that the patients have confessed to taking the syrup, Dr. Aluthge said that they have been directed to Covid-19 treatment centres.
The GMOA urges the public not to endanger their lives by going in pursuit of such things while disregarding health regulations.

Meanwhile, Bandara has made a statement on Facebook, saying that persons infected had also consumed another remedy known as the “Ritigala Syrup”.
He points out that effectiveness of his syrup was diluted due to Ritigala Syrup.
