100,000 new jobs with foreign investments  Featured

Ajith Nivard Cabraal, State Minister of Money and Capital Market and State Enterprise Reforms says that the government has secured three major foreign investments  that will create 100,000 new jobs in the country at the beginning of the new year.

He points out that the country will receive Rs. 550 billion in foreign investment.

According to government sources, more than 100,000 jobs will be created by 2021 by other foreign investments.

Under the first three investments the agreement on the Port City International Conference Hall was signed on the 17th of this month with an investment of Rs. 185 billion.

The China Harbor Engineering Company Limited (CHEC), a subsidiary of state-run behemoth China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC), signed the agreement with Browns Investments, an arm of Sri Lankan conglomerate LOLC Group, for developing the Colombo International Financial Center (CIFC).
