Akkaraipattu declared a health high-risk zone Featured

The Akkaraipattu police area has been declared as a health high-risk zone with immediate effect, the office of the Eastern Province Governor has said.

A media release issued in this regard notes that the measure has been taken due to a rise of Covid-19 cases from the area.

The Governor has strictly urged residents in the area to remain in their homes and ordered officials to take measures to ensure that mobile services distributing food were arranged.

Health officials and the security forces will be deployed to ensure the public in the area strictly follow the health guidelines issued by the Health Ministry, the media release further notes.
