Suspected Covid-19 patient runs away from Ragama Hospital

A special operation has been launched to nab a person noted as a suspected Covid-19 patient, who had fled from his treatment facility in Ragama.

The patient, said to be a person from Peliyagoda, is said to have escaped from the hospital this morning.

Speaking to media, police spokesperson, DIG Ajith Rohana had said that testing positive for Covid-19 was nothing to be ashamed of.

However, those who conceal information with regard to the epidemic will face legal action under the penal code and quarantine laws, he added.
