Basil's cadre tasked with spearheading development work! Featured

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has directed all cabinet and state ministries to carry out development activities under the Presidential Task Force on Economic Revival and Poverty Eradication, led by Basil Rajapaksa.

The President has made this order in Gazette Extraordinary No. 2187/27, dated Aug. 09, which had named subjects, offices and institutions falling under the purview of respective ministries.

Under the section of the Finance ministry, the Gazette notes that the Presidential Task Force on Economic Revival and Poverty Eradication should facilitate to spearhead all development activities, coordinating all ministries.

In addition, national security, alleviating the Covid-19 outbreak risk, drug eradication, archeology conservation, education reform, poverty alleviation and economic revival have been stated as common tasks of all ministries that should be coordinated with the relevant Task forces appointed.

Further, it has been stated that as a special priority of the Defence ministry, it should work together with the relevant Presidential Task Force to establish a drug free country.

It has been stated that the policy and legal background required for the management of the Archaeological Heritage should be formulated jointly with the Presidential Task Force under the special priorities of the Buddha Sasana and Religious Affairs.

For the Ministry of Education, it was stated that the institutional structure required to implement the National Education Policy Policies designed by the Presidential Task Force on Education Reforms, should be established.

For the Health ministry, it was stated that the Covid-19 Task Force should constantly identify the risks and take preventive action.
