Actual reason for Mahinda’s S’pore visit revealed? Featured

State intelligence has been able to find out the actual reason for ex-president Mahinda Rajapaksa’s Singapore visit, say police headquarters sources.

Prior to his departure, he claimed he would undergo a medical check at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, but the sources say that before going to the hospital, he had gone to a leading bank and made a transfer of a massive amount of money.

Another investigation is on into reports that he was met in Singapore by former MP Sajin Vaas Gunawardena.

That meeting was attended by Mahinda’s youngest son Rohitha and MP Lohan Ratwatte, whose daughter is to marry Mahinda’s second son Yoshitha.

Rohitha’s secret bank account

Rohitha, who had plans to become an astronaut, had maintained a secret account at a Singapore bank for his project, sources say further.

This week, Mahinda advanced his weekly meeting with leaders of the joint opposition from Tuesday to Monday, and on the occasion informed them that he would be leaving the country on that night.

It was Sri Lanka Mirror that broke the news that the ex-president would make a sudden trip overseas.
