Chairman of the National Elections Commission Mahinda Deshapriya speaking to reporters on Monday (27) said the decision was made following complaints made by multiple factions.
He said as there is no legislation with respect to advanced voting in Sri Lanka, concerns were raised, adding there was also an issue with regard to organizing such a polling process.
Concerns were also raised with regard to Mobile Polling Stations if such an exercise was not available for remand prisoners.
