Mahindananda to face 3-yr prison sentence? Featured

Legal experts  point out that former Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage could face legal action and possibly a three year prison sentence over his false complaint made with regard to the 2011 World Cup final.

This was revealed after a group of former cricketers had investigated how seek legal action against Mr. Aluthgamage. 

Accordingly, it has been revealed that Aluthgamage could face legal action under Article 13 of the Sports (Amendment) Act.

Meanwhile, it is said that the statements given by Kumara Sangakkara and Aravinda de Silva before the Sports Ministry's Special Investigation Unit have proven that Mahindananda’s allegations are false.

Suspicions have arisen in the field that Mahela and Sangakkara had faced such allegations after publicly criticizing the proposed move to build a cricket ground in Homagama.
