29 Covid-19 cases reported today

Twenty nine new Covid-19 cases were reported in Sri Lanka today (24).

Accordingly the total number of persons who tested positive for Covid-19 in Sri Lanka has increased to 1,118.

Out of the cases confirmed today, 28 were identified as returnees from Kuwait who are currently at quarantine facilities in Trincomalee and Minneriya.

Meanwhile the number of persons who recovered after testing positive for Covid-19 in the country rose to 674.

The Epidemiology Unit said 14 persons recovered and were discharged from hospitals over the past 24 hours.

Seven Covid-19 patients were discharged from the Navy General Hospital while five persons were discharged from the National Institute of Infectious Diseases and two persons were discharged from the Colombo East Base Hospital.

435 patients are still receiving treatment.
