Jogging tracks open from today

Jogging tracks, which have been closed for over a month,  have been reopened to the public, Police said.
Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police (IGP) for the Western Province Deshabandu Tennakoon and a group of officers from the police sports division have marked the reopening of walking tracks at the Torrington walking track.
He said the public have been requested to adhere to the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health, such as wearing face masks and maintaining social distancing.

The public have been specifically requested to use jogging tracks relatively close to their residences than those required to travel a distance.

He clarified that the National Identity Card (NIC) system will not be required to be followed if the jogging track is in and around their residential area.

Jogging tracks will be opened to the public from 5.00am to 8.00am and from 4.00pm to 8.00pm from today, he said.
