Sri Lankan seeks more time over Airbus fraud, but CoPE refuses! Featured

The Committee On Public Enterprises (COPE) had summoned Sri Lankan Airlines before it on February 19th over the controversial Airbus deal.

The Sri Lankan Airlines officials had asked for another date as they are newly appointed officials and needed more time to study the case. However, the COPE Committee had rejected their request and notified them to appear before the committee on the given date, said COPE Chairman Sunil Handunnetti.

The Airbus deal, which is a much talked about issue which was discussed in the COPE Committee. Therefore, the COPE Chairman said that they intend to summon the Sri Lankan Airlines and discuss this matter.

It is further stated that two COPE reports pertaining to the Airbus deal had been submitted to parliament earlier.
