Fmr. governors still have ministerial security Featured

Provincial governors appointed during the previous government are still being provided with ministerial security, reports say.

Several individuals who had been governors during the previous government have retained ministerial security and sources from the Ministerial Security Division (MSD) says that accordingly, two MSD personnel are continuing to provide security to each former governor.

Former president Maithripala Sirisena transferred and removed provincial governors on several occasions while incumbent president Gotabaya Rajapaksa too appointed new governors after the new government swept into power.

Out of the former governors, only M. Muzammil was re-appointed as a Governor to the North Western Province.
