Ranjan had telephone conversations with 60 judges! Featured

It is reported that among the controversial telephone conversations of Ranjan Ramanayake, there are recordings of his conversations with over 60 judges. 

The telephone conversations between Ranjan Ramanayake and Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya, former High Court Judge Padmini Ranawaka and Judge Dhammika Hemapala are already been released by the media. In addition many taped telephone conversations suggesting that the former State Minister had intervened in certain cases before courts has also been released to the media.

The Thajudeen murder trial, case against Duminda Silva, case against Udaya Gammanpila, case against Mahindananda Aluthgamage and the Nureewatte Atha-kota’s case were among the controversial cases that Ramanayake is said to have interfered in.

Further, among these recording there are many which insults and criticises many UNP members as well.

Among them are recordings of UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe criticising current Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, former party Chairman Kabir Hashim, former Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera, former ministers Ravi Karunanayake, Vajira Abeywardena and Rishad Bathiudeen.

Further, among these recordings there are said to be recordings regarding MPs who faced allegations of being involved in the Bond scam such as Ajith P. Perera, Sujeewa Senasinghe and Hector Appuhamy.

There are also said to be conversations between Ramanayake and wives of the then opposition MPs, among these recordings.

Due to this situation, there is said to be stiff protests against Ranjan Ramanayake from within the UNP. In addition to these conversations there are also telephone conversations between Ramanayake and high ranking police officers, officers of the AG’s Department and conversations between high ranking government officials.
