Deputy Solicitor General Parinda Ranasinghe, representing the Attorney General, told the court that the Attorney General’s Department has directed the related documents to the government of Singapore in order to repatriate Mahendran to Sri Lanka under extradition law.
The Deputy Solicitor General, presenting his submissions, said the AGC will subsequently take apt legal measures to repatriate Mahendran to Sri Lanka.
Geoffrey Aloysius permitted to travel overseas
Geoffrey Aloysius - the sixth accused in the Bond Scam case, was permitted to travel abroad for a month by the Special High Court today (Dec 4).
A three-member judge bench during a hearing ordered the accused to furnish two sureties worth Rs 250,000 each before being allowed to go overseas for medical treatment.
The Attorney General has charged 10 individuals under the Public Property Act, for alleged irregularities that had taken place while issuing Central Bank treasury bonds in 2015.
