3 years imprisonment for sharing postal voting pics on FB Featured

Chairman of Elections Commission Mahinda Deshapriya has warned  that strict action will be taken against state employees who captured selfies or any images during postal voting and posted them on Facebook.
Speaking at a media briefing yesterday (31 Oct) held at National Elections Commission premises Deshapriya said if relevant individuals are proven guilty they could face a prison term of up to 3 years.
The Elections Chief noted it was unfortunate that despite being warned  state employees had taken pictures of them casting postal votes and shared it on Facebook.
He stressed such actions were completely illegal and must end immediately.
