The Special Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) appointed to investigate the Easter Sunday terror attacks has identified several officials who should be held responsible.

The final report of the PSC is scheduled to be presented to parliament tomorrow.

The report is also said to include recommendations on national security and racial harmony as well.

The Committee is also said to have recommended that coexistence should be inculcated in children at a young age and this should be included as a subject in their school curriculum.

The Chairman of the PSC Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa had said earlier that several officials who should be held responsible for this incident had also been identified.

He had stated that the PSC had identified several officials responsible for the failure of the security mechanism.

However, he had stated that the PSC had no authority to take action against those who had failed to ensure national security which led to the Easter Sunday attacks.

It is also reported that the PSC has identified two components which is vital to national security and to prevent t repeat of the Easter Sunday incident.

While the national security network needs to be strengthened, the PSC has identified that the restructuring process should be expedited and in order to ensure peaceful coexistence, it should be included in the school curriculum in order to inculcate racial acceptance and harmony in the minds of the people.
