SLPP to lodge complaint against Indian FB officials

It is reported that a leading group of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP)  is planning to complain to the Chairman of National  Election's Commission on suspicion that there is a decrease in the speed of internet activity and officials of Facebook  who claim to monitor the spread of misinformation during the election in Sri Lanka.

The main reason for the complaint is that the Facebook chief appointed for election monitoring in Sri Lanka is an Indian national and Sajith Premadasa's social media campaign has been given to an Indian company.

Meanwhile, Head of Facebook Policy Programs (India, South and Central Asia), at a function last week, said that they will partner with the National Election's Commission  to ensure that Facebook will be used responsibly during the upcoming elections.
