NTJ's Colombo district organiser granted bail

The proscribed National Thowheed Jamath group's Colombo District Organiser has been granted bail after he was arrested in the aftermath of the April 21 terrorist attacks.

Mohamed Fawas, was taken into custody along with some posters, pen drives, and phones containing sermons delivered by the NTJ group in Keselwatte on June 28.

Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne today (Jul 15) released the suspect on two surety bails of Rs 500,000 each after considering a letter by the Attorney General (AG) stating that there was no objection to release him on bail.
