It had been revealed that finger prints found on Upali Tennakoon’s car had matched with the fingerprints of former Intelligence Officer of the Tripoli camp during the Rajapaksa regime Lalith Rajapaksha.
Accordingly, the CID had identified Lalith Rajapaksha as a suspect in the assault of Upali Tennakoon.
The relevant intelligence officer was produced in the Gampaha Magistrate’s Court on Jukly 07th and ordered to be remanded.
Attorney General Dappula de Livera had also instructed the CID to name Lalith Rajapaksha as a suspect in the abduction and assault of journalist Keith Noyahr.
Investigations have also revealed that during the relevant periods, SIM cards pertaining to five telephone numbers suspected to have been used for communications over the killing of Lasantha Wickremetunge, had been investigated and it has been found that been active in the areas of Lasantha Wickramatunbge’s and Upali Tennakoon’s homes.
It has also been revealed that the private phone numbers used by the suspected intelligence officers had been active in the same area during that period.
Further, it has also been revealed that this group had used the identical clothing, jackets and weapons during their attacks.
