Govt. websites' security boosted

Following the cyber attack that occurred yesterday (19 May) measures have been taken to strengthen the security of government websites, says Cyber Security Engineer of Computer Emergency Readiness Team (SLCERT) Ravindu Meegasmulla .

Accordingly, security of all websites has been strengthened.

According to Mr. Meegasmulla the government websites are hosted in servers owned by Sri Lanka Telecom and measures have been taken to secure them after discussing with the staff of Telecom.

All government websites are currently being monitored and the .com and .lk websites affected by the yesterday's attack have been restored. Few websites have been removed from the internet, he added.
