He said thus while addressing the opening ceremony of the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations (CDAC) which kicked off in Beijing today (15).
"The culture of any civilization of any country cannot be underbound by any law, constitution or international order. At a dialogue such as this taking place today, we must all take time to respect others' identity, preserve our nationalism and as Asian countries this gathering indeed creates an honorable platform for this," he said.
In particular, international extremism, extremist terrorism, and religious extremist terrorism ... In order to defeat all these, I believe that the voice, harmony and the similar ideology of all those present will build up as a friendly Asian collective under the leadership of the Chinese president - Xi Jinping, he added.
Meanwhile, delivering the keynote address, Chinese president Xi Jinping pointed out that civilizations have enriched themselves for ages, and that 'China today is a part of the world...and will open its arms wider to the world, to a better world in future.'
The CDAC is held under the heme 'Exchanges and mutual learning among Asian civilizations and a community with a shared future'.
Over 2,000 individuals including government officials from 47 Asian countries and well known figures in the fields of culture, education institutions, film and television, think tanks, media and tourism are to attend the opening ceremony, sub forums and related cultural events.
