'Won't support any forms of terrorism'

The Federation of Civil Society Organizations in Kattankudy says that they will not "support any forms of terrorism and will always stand together" with their Sri Lankan brethren.

"We as a responsible organization would like to pledge our Sri Lankan brothers and sisters that the Sri Lankan Muslims at no instance will support any forms of terrorism and will always stand together with you for a better Sri Lanka. Also please accept our sincere call to bring about peace and harmony and prosper this beautiful country with our peaceful co-existence and hard-work," a press communique by the federation states.

Noting that the recent string of bombings had brought a 'disgrace' on them, the collective says how the National Thowheed Jama'ath leader - Zahran Hashim was dismissed from the Jamiathul Falah Arabic College in Kattankudy due to his misconduct, disobedience and radical and controversial views.

"The mistake every one of us made is that we did not precisely understand the magnitude of his planning and affiliations," the statement adds.
