China Qingdao Huijintong gets 6,781m power contract! Featured

Cabinet approval has been received to present the contract to Chinese firm Qingdao Huijintong Power Equipment Co. Ltd. for the construction of a 33 KW distribution network and gantry in order to strengthen the Ceylon Electricity Board transmission and distribution network.

The proposal for this purpose was presented by Power and Energy and Business Development Minister Ravi Karunanayake.

Based on the recommendations of the standing procurement committee, the contract has been handed over to the Chinese company for Rs. 6,781.5 million.

The project would be implemented with the assistance of $ 115 million loan given by the Asian Development Bank for the development of a reliable power sector.

This project is implemented under nine packages and under four packages the contract has been awarded to Qingdao Huijintong Power Equipment Co. Ltd.

The contract for development of green energy and power efficiency and Construction of 33 kV Lynx Tower Lines and 04 Nos of 33 kV Gantries amounting to Rs. 2,708.6 was awarded to CEYkix Engineering (pvt) Ltd.

Qingdao Huijintong Power Equipment Co. Ltd. is the first company in Jiaozhou city to be listed in the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
