Tissa's case to be settled due to absence of President and PM

The petitioners have decided to withdraw petitions filed against former UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake.

The case was taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Wickum Kaluarachchi today (25).

The Colombo High Court ordered to call the case on April 4 to make submissions for a settlement.

President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe failed to appear before the Court on 6 occasions in connection with the case where Tissa Attanayake has been alleged on publishing forged document depicting a secret agreement between Maithripala Sirisena and Ranil Wickremesinghe. Tissa Attanayake’s attorney President's Counsel Kalinga Indatissa and Deputy Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris who appeared on behalf of the complainant stated that the two parties have agreed on a settlement.
