820 Kgs of tobacco leaves seized from Mannar

At least 820 kilograms of tobacco leaves meant to produce “Beedi” seized from a house in the Adampan area, Mannar yesterday (14), Mannar Adampan Police said.

The stock of tobacco leaves has been found hidden in the house on a tip-off received and the Police had not been able to apprehend any suspects in this regard.

The stock of tobacco leaves was to be produced before the Mannar Magistrate's Court.

Adampan Police is conducting further investigations.
