500 children, parents protest in P’naruwa town (pics) Featured

Around 250 children, with their parents burning tyres, blocked vehicular traffic on Colombo-Batticaloa main road and staged a protest at Polonnaruwa town today (29).

These children went to school at Royal Primary College in Polonnaruwa and sat for their grade five scholarship examination last year.

They ask that they be enrolled to Royal Central College in Polonnaruwa.

Since the children are without a school for around a month now, parents asked that the matter be resolved swiftly.
