Sena found from maize being sold by wayside vendors

The Fall Army Worm, locally known as Sena Caterpillar, has been found from the boiled maize being sold by wayside vendors.

Officials of the Kudawewa agricultural and agrarian office made an inspection in the area which is located on Colombo-Chilaw main road.

Madampe at Mahawewa is home to the second largest paddy bowl in the country, spanning over 999 acres.

As a measure to prevent a spreading of Sena, the vendors have been advised to burn the outer cover of the maize immediately.
