President requests to retain Information DG

President Maithripala Sirisena has requested Finance minister - Mangala Samaraweera to retain the acting DG of the Information Department - Nalaka Kaluwewa, internal sources say.

Soon after Mahinda Rajapaksa was appointed as the PM on Oct. 26, Nalaka Kaluwewa was appointed as the acting DG of the Information Department.

Meanwhile, President Maithripala Sirisena has named his representatives to state media institutions.

The list gives Saranga Wijeratne, presently the director general, to Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation.

Lawyer Rasanga Harischandra will be the president’s representative at ITN and Sampath Deshapriya, formerly Lakbima editor, has been proposed as editorial director at Lake House.
