SLFP headquarters closed - for holidays Featured

Party leader, president Maithripala Sirisena, has instructed the closure of the SLFP headquarters until the New Year, to prevent any divisions.

Calls to the fixed line at the SLFP headquarters and the mobile phone of its general secretary Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa went unanswered.

Later, Piyadasa called Sri Lanka Mirror and said it was normal practice to give year-end holidays for the headquarters staff.

On December 24, president Sirisena addressed SLFP electoral organizers at a meeting in Colombo and left soon thereafter to leave for an overseas visit.

Thereafter, Piyadasa and S.B. Dissanayake had to face a barrage of criticism from the participants, numbering around 300.
