Cancer drugs to be flown down immediately!

Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne has issued instructions to have the cancer drugs required by the Maharagama Apeksha Hospital, to be made available by today (24), according to Health Ministry officials.

Therefore, the urgently required cancer drugs would be brought by air, to avert a shortage of cancer drugs.

The Minister had said this when he had met with the Health Ministry officials in order to discuss the shortage of drugs at hospitals.

Specialist doctors had notified the minister that there was a shortage of around 05 types of drugs required by the patients at the Maharagama Apeksha Hospital.

Due to the shortage of drugs at the Apeksha Hospital, the admission of patients had been temporarily halted on December 21.
