The plaque installed in 1954 bearing the names of the Senanayakes’ had been removed during the recent renovation of the Iranamadu tank and was missing until last evening. However, after media reports that the plaque had been removed, the old plaque had been reinstalled last night.
When contacted, the Killinochchi Irrigation officers said that the old plaque which had been damaged had been removed during the recent renovation of the tank and upon restoration, it had been reinstalled last night.
