Grave financial crisis if a vote on account isn't passed - Mawbima

Despite what the court verdict might be, if a vote on account is not presented to parliament within the next couple of weeks and passed, the country would face a serious crisis next year with state institutions not being able to operate, a senior parliament official had told the ‘Mawbima’ newspaper.

He said that this month there would not be a crisis in terms of state sector salaries and other expenditure of state institutions.

The next parliamentary session is scheduled to be held on December 12.

He noted that the vote on account for the first quarter of next year should be done by a Finance Minister and a certain amount of time is also required to debate it and have it passed.
