Korean ambassador complains to president over project delay Featured

The South Korean ambassador has complained to the president about a three year delay, blamed on the subject minister and other political authorities, in an urban street lamps project in Sri Lanka, ‘Deshaya’ reports.

The investment agreement for the project to be carried out with a 500 million US dollar loan from South Korea was signed in 2015.

Under the project, the existing street lamps will be replaced with LED lamps.

The provincial councils and local government minister is yet to submit the relevant cabinet paper for a reason best known to him.
