JO feels absence of Basil, as Namal prepares for candlelight vigil Featured

Most of the crowds hoping to participate in the joint opposition-organized ‘Jana Balaya Kolambata’ protest in Colombo have gone back to their villages without staying, reports say.

In the meantime, MP Namal Rajapaksa is leading a group of youths at the Lake House roundabout to prepare for a candlelight vigil.

Intelligence reports place the numbers who have gathered for the protest at nearly 5,000.

JO seniors are pointing the finger at Namal Rajapaksa for the failure of the protest which he had organized without listening to them.

They are without the services of Basil Rajapaksa, who had until recently been the key organizing power behind the JO.
